Meet Lucetta

Deep Yamhill Roots

An Oregon native, I grew up on a small farm in Yamhill County where my grandparents tended the land. Life on a farm gave me grounded roots, traditional values, and a strong work ethic. I learned to see challenges as opportunities and developed my problem-solving skills. My first taste of small business experience came when I was 15 and began to do payroll for my dad's timber business. After high school, I earned a Bachelors of Science in Education from Linfield University. It wasn't long before I combined my love of teaching with a passion for business, and opened my own school.

Family First

I married my high school sweetheart, Denny Elmer, and we were blessed with four amazing children. Together, we’ve created a lifelong journey of small business development and community involvement. No matter how busy life gets, we remain committed to nurturing our family bonds. Today, I am not only a wife and mother, but also a Gigi. My grandchildren bring me endless joy, and also motivation to help create a better Oregon for their future.

Investing in Community

Denny and I have invested ourselves in the heartbeat of our community. From businesses and organizations to schools and churches, we’ve seen firsthand the power of connectivity. We opened businesses such as Union Block and The Douglas on Third, we taught marriage and parenting classes, and we were actively involved in our children’s education. I truly believe that our communities can thrive when people come together and find common goals. We have so many amazing organizations here in House District 24 and it’s been an honor to serve on many board and committees over the years:

Chair, McMinnville Chamber of Commerce

Chair, McMinnville Christian Academy

Board Member, McMinnville Downtown Association

Member of Government Affairs Committee

Board Member, A Family Place
